Front Entrance and Rose Garden Parkade Accessibility
The Chan Centre is able to fully accommodate those with accessibility needs. When approaching the Chan Centre entrance from the top of the stairwell off of Main Mall, the Rose Garden Parkade elevator is located near the flag pole plaza; south-west of the main doors to the Chan Centre.
This elevator, in addition to taking you down to the Chan Centre front entrance (level 5), also services the various levels of the Rose Garden Parkade where a number of accessible parking stalls can be found on level five.
Concert Hall Accessibility
All of the seating in the orchestra (main) level of the Chan Shun Concert Hall can be accessed without the use of stairs. The Parterre seating that surrounds the main floor can be accessed with minimal use of stairs. Please note that only the audience left side of the dress and upper levels of the concert hall (including odd-numbered boxes) are accessible by elevator. Note: Audience left is defined as the perspective of the audience member, when sitting in their seat, while looking at the stage.
Seats designated specifically as accessible (Box 5, Box 15, and Row A and B in the orchestra) can only be purchased by calling the Ticket Office. Phone fees are waived for this scenario. Please call 604-822-2697 for more information.
Infrared Hearing System headsets are available free of charge for those hard of hearing. For further details or to make special arrangements, please contact Carl Armstrong at 604.822.2188 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
