Streaming FAQ

For the 20/21 Season, we are using a new digital streaming platform to bring incredible performances directly to you. Thank you for your patience while we work to make this experience as seamless as possible for you!

  • Virtual performances booked through UBC Tickets can be accessed through our online viewing platform watch.chancentre.com

    If you have registered for a single performance, your exclusive voucher code(s) and link to watch will be included in your confirmation email.

    If you are registered as a subscriber or have registered for any UBC Opera Virtual events, you will log in via the "Subscriber Login" at watch.chancentre.com to view your performance(s).

    The email address (username) and password for the platform are the same as your UBC Tickets credentials used to purchase or register for the event.

    Please note that subscribers and UBC Opera customers do not receive voucher numbers so can ignore the Voucher Number Login section.

  • Yes. Regardless of your ticket type, you will still need to register through our ticketing system to receive the link and password and/or voucher to view each performance.

  • How thoughtful of you! If you would like to purchase single tickets as a gift, you can pass on the voucher code(s) to the recipient to enter into the Voucher Number Login at watch.chancentre.com.

    If you would like to gift a subscription and/or would like a gift certificate issued, purchase your tickets as usual and then reach out to our ticket office at chan.tickets@ubc.ca and we will create a login and/or gift certificate for your recipient.

  • If you have forgotten your password, it must be reset in UBC Tickets to recover your password before attempting to login to the viewing platform at watch.chancentre.com. Once you have validated your email address in UBC Tickets and created a new password, you will be able to login with those same credentials at watch.chancentre.com to view your streams.

  • You can watch on any internet-connected device. That could be your phone, laptop, desktop computer, TV, tablet, etc. View technical requirements here.

  • Please ensure that “mirroring” is turned off on your device and that you are using the cast or Airplay button to stream. Apple does not support the mirroring of encrypted video. View technical requirements here.

  • If you have booked tickets for a single performance, individual voucher numbers and links to access performances can be found on your order confirmation email sent by tickets@tickets.ubc.ca. Alternatively, you can log into your UBC Tickets account and find the streaming link and/or the voucher code in your list of Upcoming Events under My Account.

    If you are a subscriber or purchased tickets to a UBC Opera performance, you do not need a voucher number. Instead, please go to the Subscriber/UBC Opera login portal at watch.chancentre.com and use the same login credentials that you used to place your order in UBC Tickets.
