Sound House: Ezra Kwizera

Museum of Anthropology at UBC – Thursday 03 October 2019 7:00 PM Send to my Calendar

MOA’s popular Sound House series returns for its second season. For the October edition, Ezra Kwizera and his band offer a zesty yet soulful mix of reggae, soca, East African bongo, and pop. With linguistic agility, Ezra fluidly sings and raps in English, Kinyarwanda, Luganda, Zulu and Swahili. Growing up as a refugee in Uganda before moving back to his home country Rwanda after the 1994 genocide, Ezra is driven to support Rwandans through his music to rebuild their country. Join us at Sound House to gather outside by the heat of the bonfire, then gather in the Haida House for music to set the world on fire.
